Now we could (for a hefty price tag I suppose) choose the gender, eye color, skin color and hair color of our next child. This is really going a bit too far if you ask me. Why is hoping for a healthy child, with 10 fingers and 10 toes so unheard of these days? Are we that vein a society, a master race in the making possibly?
In the immortal words of my 6 year old: "You get what you get and you don't get upset!"

besides there are good things about that, if something like huntingtons or hemophilia runs in the family you can eliminate that gene
While Donna does make a good point, the ramifications of this practice are incredibly damaging - for example, when a test for the gay gene becomes a reality, it'll be far to easy for a homophobic family to about the fetus and well, where would we get all are good art, theatre and woman's clothes come from?

I am reading it after I read the new Christopher Moore "Fool".
Albeit, what about all those "bad" fetuses? Just because say, cancer, runs in your family, how many "designer babies" will die before that is out of them? There are no guarantees here. It also leaves us open to other possible outcomes, new diseases, and not good ones either.

When speaking with Royal, he had said that the "Gay Gene" is usually found in the last (youngest) child born...You, Debbie, Laurie, Lisa (Royal is the last of 7)for example. So there is a lesser of two evils have one child if you don't want a gay one, lol.
Ask Royal about those studies...its very interesting.
i never said eliminate the child, i said eliminate the gene and i kno that there are still downsides to it and stuff but hey if you can find a safe way to cure cancer by eliminating or adding a gene that inhibits the cancer gene why not try? the main issue really in our society is "when is too much god playing too much?"
